Product Care

A little regular care helps keep your lighting and home accessories looking their best. Use this guidance only where it matches your item, material and finish. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with your product first. If you are unsure, contact us before using a cleaner or changing a component.

Before Cleaning Lighting

Switch off the light and let it cool. Unplug plug-in lamps and disconnect charging cables from rechargeable lamps. For hardwired fixtures, turn off the relevant circuit breaker before cleaning; a wall switch alone is not a substitute for isolating the supply. Do not open electrical housings or disturb wiring. Ask a qualified electrician if you are unsure how to isolate a fixture safely.

Never spray liquids directly onto a light fitting, bulb, switch or charging port. Keep electrical components dry. Only remove a shade or other component if the manufacturer’s instructions allow it, and make sure it is fully dry before reassembly and use.

Travertine, Marble, Cement and Concrete

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Where the finish permits, remove marks with a barely damp cloth and dry promptly. Avoid soaking and standing water. Do not use acidic cleaners such as vinegar or lemon juice, abrasive pads or harsh cleaning products. Follow any care instructions for sealants or coatings on your particular item.

Wood and Bamboo

Wipe with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth, then dry promptly. Avoid soaking, prolonged water contact, direct heat and extended exposure to strong sunlight. Do not put wooden or bamboo accessories in a dishwasher unless the product instructions specifically allow it.

For bath trays, check the fit and stability before use, follow any stated load limits, and dry the tray after use. Apply oils, waxes or polishes only when recommended for the item’s finish.

Glass and Ceramic Decor

Dust with a soft cloth. For washable, non-electrical pieces, follow the supplied cleaning instructions and dry after cleaning. Keep unglazed or porous decorative surfaces dry unless their instructions permit washing. Avoid abrasive pads and sudden temperature changes.

Do not assume a decorative vase or vessel is watertight, or that a decorative tray is suitable for direct food contact. Check the selected product’s stated use first.

Metal and Plated Finishes

Use a soft, dry cloth for routine dusting. Where the manufacturer permits damp cleaning, use a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and metal polish on plated, painted or lacquered surfaces unless expressly recommended for that finish.

Unlacquered brass and copper may develop a patina over time. Check the finish and the manufacturer’s guidance before using a specialist polish.

Acrylic and Plastic

Use a clean, soft cloth without rubbing grit across the surface. For non-electrical washable parts, use water or a mild soap solution only where permitted, then dry gently. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents and alcohol-based sprays unless approved for the material.

Fabric Shades

Dust gently with a soft brush or dry cloth. Do not soak or machine-wash a shade. Only spot-clean when its care instructions allow it, and let it dry fully before use.

Wall Prints and Posters

Handle prints with clean, dry hands and support them when moving or framing. Keep them away from splashes, persistent humidity and direct sunlight. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Do not spray cleaners onto the printed surface or assume that a print is washable.

Serving Pieces and Tableware

Use only items described as suitable for serving food for that purpose. Follow each item’s cleaning and temperature instructions. Do not assume glass, ceramic or metal tableware is dishwasher-, microwave-, oven- or freezer-safe unless the manufacturer confirms it for that product. Avoid sudden changes between hot and cold temperatures, and stop using food-contact pieces if they become chipped or cracked.

Candle and Incense Holders

Use on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials, children and pets. Never leave burning candles or incense unattended. Let the holder cool fully before handling or cleaning. Remove residue gently using a method suitable for the holder’s material; do not scrape with sharp tools.

Bulbs and Rechargeable Lamps

Replace only bulbs designed to be user-replaceable. Match the fitting’s specified bulb base, voltage, type and maximum wattage. Do not attempt to replace an integrated LED module unless the manufacturer provides instructions for doing so.

For rechargeable lamps, use the charging cable and power supply specified by the manufacturer. Keep charging connections dry. Stop using or charging a lamp if the battery, cable or housing is damaged, swollen or unusually hot, and contact us for help. Do not open or modify a sealed battery.

Outdoor Fixtures

Follow the fixture’s instructions for its installation location and maintenance. An outdoor rating does not mean a light can be submerged or pressure-washed. Do not hose down electrical fittings. Have damaged seals, wiring or fixtures checked by a qualified professional before further use.

Natural Variations and Product Problems

Natural stone and wood can vary in grain, veining, texture and color. These variations do not mean that every difference, crack or other problem is acceptable.
